Celestial Seasonings Candy Can lane Decaf Green Tea

Live life well this holiday season with Celestial Seasonings and take a stroll down Candy Cane Lane! It's made with the very finest green tea leaves, peppermint, and other botanicals.

I'm a big tea drinker and Celestial Seasonings is a staple in our house. This tea tastes minty, but it's not that overpowering, slap you in the face, mint flavor. Very subtle, and light. I've had a cold for a few days so it's pretty much a tiny little cup of heaven. (It's given me the power to breathe out of my nose again lol!)

I Love Influenster

I get asked a lot of questions about Influenster, "What is Influenster?" (One word comes to mind, AWESOME.), "How much does it cost?", and "Do you love it?"

Influenster is a completely FREE program. Influenster connects the consumers directly to the products they know and love through their Vox Boxes. And all you have to do is give your honest opinion on the products. This is something we already do. We've all went to a girlfriend to find out her opinion on this brand of nail polish or that brand of mascara. Now you can tell the brands directly how you feel about their products.

So, What is a Vox Box and how do you get one? A Vox Box is a box of free products you receive complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes. And guess, what, to get one, all you have to do is fill out a quick survey and Influenster will let you know whether you are a good fit for the particular box. If not, don't worry, there will be plenty more to come. PLENTY! and if that isn't enough, if you're one of the top badge holders, you are eligible for even more goodies!

If free products isn't perk enough, I really love Influenster because it gives me the chance to be honest about the products I love, like, or dislike (and trust me, you will find products you dislike and saying you dislike them, isn't some automatic disqualification from the program.) You get to be honest and you get to try out some of the best products on the market!
So seriously, how could anyone say this program isn't for them? I've received anything from Dr. Scholl's® For Her High Heel Insoles (which were terrible) and a Keurig 2.0 (which I have a love hate relationship with.) Influenster has a really great team that is constantly working to improve their website and their app, and it just seems to get better and better!

Keurig 2.0 Brewing System

"The new Keurig® 2.0 system features Keurig 2.0 Brewing Technology™ which reads each lid to deliver a perfect beverage every time. This ensures that the Keurig® 2.0 system delivers on the promise of excellent quality beverages, produced simply and consistently, using the best Keurig® brewer technology and new features like strength control."

I'm a few weeks into using my new Keurig® 2.0 K550 Brewing System and I really really like it. Like, but not love. There are a few issues I just can't seem to get passed with this model.
- Strength Control
- Customizable User Interface
- Hot Water on Demand
- Carafe Brewing

- Limited Coffee Selection
- Noisy When Operating
- Cam Only Use Registered K-Cups
- Hot Water Option Only Does 6oz at a Time
- Hor Water Requires Holding The Button Down

If you're familiar with the Keurig brand, then you know that their machines are really the top of the line. Quick and convenient coffee. This new model offers what the previous models did not, which is the carafe option. I think this particular model would be perfectly suited for offices and/or people who frequently find themselves brewing multiple batches of coffee.

If you're like me and have a huge selection of K-Cups, you may want to keep your previous Keurig model until you run out. I was disappointed to find out that some of my K-Cups will not work with this new model. I just assumed a K-Cup was a K-Cup. Very frustrating!

This products was received complimentary for testing and reviewing purposes.

BakeitFun Silicone Baking Mat Review

I received a BakeItFun Silicone Baking Mat to review and I have to say that this isn't the first time I've used a baking mat. Me and Silpat go way back! First things first, if you're unfamiliar with silicone baking mats, think about not having to use butter or oil when you're baking your cookies. You're getting healthier just buy purchasing a baking mat! If you're someone who is constantly having to scrape cookies out of a cookie sheet because they have all stuck to the pan, then you really need one of these. Also, no more buying rolls of parchment paper. Just toss your BakeItFun into the dishwasher and get ready to use it over and over again. No more stuck cookies!

If you've been in the market for a silicone baking mat, let me give you a little comparison. BakeItFun is $14.78 and the Silpat (comparable in size) is $16.72. I honestly don't think that one works better than the other in terms of functionality, but price is usually what sways me. And if I can a few bucks, I'm going to go with the cheaper option!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Tide® to Go

Tide is an absolute staple in our house. I've recently become a huge fan of their pods (what a space saver!)

I used the #TidetoGo pen on a stain that was on my favorite pair of shorts. At around 10 minutes I went to check the stain and noticed it was faded a bit. When I came back in a few hours later I actually had to look for the stain. Now that I've used the Tide to Go pen, I will be able to wear my favorite shorts without wondering if people are looking at the stain!

This is a great product and I am so thankful that Influenster gave me the opportunity to review it!

Pure Silk Shave Cream

I received the Raspberry Mist Pure Silk Shave Cream complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

The smell is wonderful. I'm thankful for that because last shaving cream I purchased smelled like chalk.
The rich lather leaves my legs feeling silky and smooth!

Another thing I love about the #PureSilk shave creams is that the cans are rust proof. No ugly rust marks on your tub!

The Secret to Success

Recently I was having a chat with a fellow entrepreneur and she brought up a very important topic, "What is the secret to success?" At the time, I couldn't think of an appropriate answer. I went on about my day, but the comment kept popping up in my head; What exactly is the secret to success? What exactly is success? Am I successful? Who is successful? To figure that out, I decided to do my research on success itself.

Success is defined as getting or achieving wealth, respect, or fame. In that sense, I can't exactly say that I'm very successful. I'm neither wealthy or famous, and I don't believe I'm substantially respected (due to the not being rich or famous part.) Could wealth and fame really be the only success in life? Lingering on the idea of success in life, I read articles about success. Some defined their success based on their accomplishments, some defined their success based on how many beach homes they owned, and some based their success around the celebrities they hang out with (we are back at wealth and fame here.) And then I saw a humbling status update written by a stranger. She mentioned how she wasn't particularly proud of her prestige lacking job, her car was a joke, and her house was a mess. What she said next struck me as genius. "but none of that matters, because when I look into the eyes of my children, I see all of my success." That simple statement made me realize something about success. Success does not have to be measured by how many yachts you own or how many zeros are on your current bank statement. Success can be measured by more humble means, it can be defined individually.

I look around at my modest home, my small business, my handsome husband, and my amazing friends and family and I can understand what success means. I am successful as a wife, I have been successful in running my business for the past 4 years, and I am successful in maintaining lasting relationships with amazing people. My perspective has changed and I now think about success on my own terms. It doesn't matter how much money you have, what kind of car you drive, or how famous you are. The Secret to Success is to view success on your own scale, not someone else's. I feel content in my own world of success. I am surrounded by love, laughter, and beauty. My secret is that I will no longer weigh my success against another's.

Reflect on the success in your life and enjoy your humble success as much as the wealthiest man enjoys his!

Rimmel Moisture Renew

First things first, this lipstick is absolutely gorgeous. (Though my face suggests otherwise.) I promise my face is in no way judging the lipstick as a whole, it's just not really a shade I think I can pull off. I'm pretty conservative with lip color. Rimmel Moisture Renew is ridiculously pigmented (ridiculous good) and super moisturizing. As soon as it goes on, you can feel how smooth and silky it is. It definitely has that expensive lipstick quality you want, but for an affordable price. CVS carries it for $6.99. The shade I received is "As You Want Victoria" and it's deep and rich!

How to make a fashion book with Blurb

Blurb is a cool company that lets you make books about anything that interests you. And if you’re interested in fashion and style—and love to show it off—making a book of your personal fashion is a fantastic way to capture your sartorial genius for all time. Whether you want it just for yourself, so you can look through your greatest hits, or you’re a bit of an Internet fashionista who wants to make a book to sell, you’ll find these tips pretty helpful!

1. It’s all about lighting. To make your fashion really pop, choose natural light or studio light with a soft box (you can even make one from a lamp and last season’s white t-shirt). If you’re using a flash, you’ll probably want to bounce it or stick a diffusion filter on it.

2. Make a shot list. This is a critical step, and even more important if you are photographing models. Even if your model is just your best friend who owes you a favor, they’ll appreciate it if you know exactly what you want to shoot. Think about the poses you want to capture, the outfits you want them to wear, and the details that you want to highlight in every shot.

3. White balance (WB). Accurate color and skin tones come from making sure the WB function on your camera is set to your lighting situation.

4. Choose the right lens/zoom setting. If you’re using a wide angle, you’re going to lose your beautiful lines (and your model may never forgive you). If you have a camera with different zoom levels, zoom out to minimize lens barrel distortion.

5. Keep it stylish. It’s a fashion shoot, after all. Play music, keep things moving, try new angles. Attitude, attitude, attitude.

6. Dress it up. Make your book as fashionable as the clothing featured in it. Choose a simple design that doesn’t upstage the clothing, but still looks chic. Pick a size and paper type that showcases the work brilliantly.

If you’ve ever paid attention to what’s on the catwalk, you know that fashion means different things to different people. Follow your own fashion obsessions and document them in a fashionable book. If you look good today in person, imagine looking great forever on the printed page with Blurb! Start your Blurb book now and Save 25% on print book orders of $75+ at Blurb.

Trendy Gifts with Personal Creations

Our friends over at Personal Creations recently put together a post showcasing three essential elements to learn and live by when it comes to gift giving. They called it The Three P’s of Great Gifting! Pay Attention, Personalize, and Presentation. Now we're going to take their inspiration and help you stick to their three P system when it comes to trendy gifting.

I would classify myself in the "good gift giver" category. I typically spend weeks, if not longer, planning out gifts for everyone. I always think about things like "can they use this" "does this fit their decor" "will this be a memorable gift." I want to know that I gave someone something that didn't go straight to the re-gifting closet. I've also been the victim of those thoughtless gifts, the ones you just can't wait to return. I got married last April and I received eight crockpots. Three of which were the same exact one and one of which was used. While we appreciated all of our gifts, there was a reason why we didn't register for a crockpot, and that is because for the last nine years, we receive atleast two of them for Christmas. This is why paying attention, maybe the most important P, is essential. If you just pay attention to what people want (or maybe don't want) you will be one step closer to being a gifting guru.
Now, as much as we don't need anymore crockpots, a friend of mine recently received a crockpot that had a vinyl monogram with their initials and wedding date, and I thought that was the sweetest crockpot I had ever seen. By hitting one of the P's personalize someone took an odious gift like a crockpot and turned it into something very special. (But seriously, lets stop with the crockpots. No one wants crockpots or pot holders...unless they have a pretty monogram.) Take a few moments and think about all the mundane items on someone's registry and pick something that you can have monogramed. Pyrex becomes so much more meaningful with an etched monogram! Personal Creations has hundreds of wonderful products for the home that can be monogramed to perfection; stoneware, galvanized beverage tubs, doormats, and even cutting boards. Nothing is trendier than a monogramed gift!
So now that you're paying attention and personalizing, you can't forget about that final P presentation. We're not all professional gift wrappers, but Personal Creations had a few awesome, and simple ideas. A brightly colored gift bag, a repurposed piece of fabric tied with satin ribbon, or brown craft paper, twine and some fresh flowers. Being a stationer, I know that the most important part of the gift giving process is a thoughtful, and handwritten card (preferably with a monogram.

When you take the three P's into consideration for the next shower, party, holiday, or just random event, you will be able to wow your friend's and family with your gift giving prowess!

The Sally Hansen Total Knockout Voxbox

I was pleasantly surprised when my Sally Hansen Total Knockout Voxbox was delivered to my door. The three shades are quite lovely. The rich red is "Red My Lips", the sultry eggplant shade is "Pet on the Black", and the mint-ish color is "Jaded." Each shade is lovely but "Pat on the Black" would have to be my favorite.

Not only are the colors pretty, but the formula goes on flawlessly (with the help of the perfectly sized brush.) I'm not exactly easy on a manicure. Typically I will be reapplying my nail polish on day 2, but I was surprised to see that my manicure looked as good today as it did yesterday! No scratches, no chips! A country girl could get use to this!

I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.
